As a Procurement and Sustainability Officer, you will manage and drive sustainability practices by educating, motivating, and influencing all HCL partners to act in ways that drive positive sustainable change in our world, making it a better place for future generations. The role will drive the implementation of social, environmental, governance, and procurement agenda across the organisation.
The position will be responsible for partnering with internal and external stakeholders in the delivery of sustainable goals. The aim is to ensure a fit for purpose sustainable and procurement approach that addresses not only the current and future needs of the business but takes into consideration HCL’s impact through its activities.
MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Give assistance in developing and managing a coordinated procurement approach towards the sourcing of all goods and services from the specification of a need through to contract award with the aim of achieving the desired outcomes for all stakeholders.
Proactively assist with the day-to-day management of supplier contracts, understanding their motivations and engaging with them appropriately. You will build and develop key strategic relationships with suppliers through ongoing engagement, to ensure overall continuous improvement.
Aid in delivering HCL’s sustainability strategy and objectives. Assist with developing and maintaining performance metrics and preparing content for HCL’s external sustainability reporting.
Work collaboratively with cross functional stakeholders to explore and promote sustainable activities and ideas internally and externally, translating these into effective proposals for application and change. Incorporating sustainable outcomes to the design of all projects with the view of entrenching sustainable practices in the way we do business.
Collate and analyse data, including monitoring progress against agreed targets, timescales, operational activities and carrying out benchmarking exercises regarding sustainability goals. Maintain up to date records on HCL’s sustainability performance. Help to identify opportunities, options, trainings, and other engagement activities that will improve HCL’s sustainability performance and reduce actions that result in negative impact.
Support in maintaining the company’s Environmental Management System ISO14001:2015 certification, including internal audits.
Provide support to the Team in the provision and management of processes concerning the following:
- Insurance Issues
- Lease Car Scheme
- Business Continuity
- Freedom of Information Requests
Keep up to date with procurement law and broad trends and knowledge relating to environmental, social and governance affairs
