Due to an expanding workload of innovative and interesting projects, my client is seeking an ecologist at or close to senior grade to join their closely knit team. This exciting position will see you joining one of the region’s premier independent, award winning Landscape and Ecology practices and be part of their exciting plans moving forward.
My client has a fantastic office close to Bristol City Centre, fitted with plenty of mod cons. The office is a fun and relaxing environment, with ample provision for showers, secure bike storage, with car parking also available. Staff are encouraged to work flexibly and are able to work remotely 2-3 days a week should they wish.
My client pride themselves on their diverse range of conservation and development-based projects, including education, public realm, housing, retail, as well as renewable energy schemes. They are known for high quality professional output with a strong emphasis on effective and innovative solutions in design and planning. As part of this friendly team, you will be working alongside their in-house landscape team and environmental planners.
In this role you can expect to rapidly develop your career through actively contributing to projects, from tendering through to completion.
You will be encouraged and supported to achieve chartership as well as provided with ongoing CPD activities.
Ideally You Will Have the Following
You will have at least six years’ experience working in the private or public sector. You should also have a genuine interest in working in a multi-disciplinary environment, where ecologists and environmental planners work with the landscape team to deliver an integrated approach.
Upwards of 6 years relevant industry experience
• Possess passion and drive
• Strong interest in biodiversity net gain, habitat creation and habitat management
• Member of Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management
• Protected species licence(s) would be advantageous
• Appropriate BSc or equivalent qualification
• MSc in a relevant environmental discipline (desirable but not essential)
• Full clean UK driving licence
• Good communication skills and ability to prepare clear, concise output
• Excellent time and task management skills
• Experience of supporting junior staff

You will be key part of my client specialist ecology team currently seven strong. Answering to the team leader will play a key role in managing your own projects and supervising junior staff. The role will be a blend of site and office work. You will undertake a wide range of responsibilities and have significant input into shaping the team.
