A fantastic opportunity for an experienced commercially driven Town Planner to join a highly successful planning and environmental consultancy as an Associate Town Planner. My client is a well-established independent consultancy with 3 offices spread across the UK. The ideal candidate will be someone with ambitions to develop and lead a planning team with a national focus.
The successful applicant will have a proven track record delivering high quality consultancy services with excellent project management and communication skills. You will be responsible for strong project delivery and providing robust pragmatic, commercial advice. In return my client can offer a highly competitive salary, along with significant career progression and the opportunity to work on a range of interesting and varied projects.

Location
Bristol and Sheffield – Two Roles Available

Responsibilities
The key attribute required for the role will be the ability to deliver projects and manage a small team of consultants, as well as support the overall planning function within the business. The successful candidate will be responsible for winning and managing a number of complex projects across a range of development sectors. Duties will include project management, residential and commercial development, written representations, informal hearing and public inquiry submissions, submission of representations to development plans, site appraisals, negotiating section 106 legal agreements, submission of planning and advertisement consent applications.
You will need to be a Chartered Member of the RTPI. Previous private consultancy experience is essential.

Capabilities & Qualifications
You must have
• A degree in a relevant planning discipline
• A good planning experience
• Solid development control experience
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral
• A strong team capability
• A track record of developing new business
You must be
• MRTPI qualified
• Committed with an eye for detail
