Job Summary:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced ecologist to join a leading specialist consultancy. They are a friendly consultancy with a great reputation for delivering a large range of projects, ranging from single dwelling surveys to large scale infrastructure projects such as HS2. As a team ecologist, you will be involved in a variety of project work including habitat, vegetation and protected species surveys, watching briefs and assisting with EcIAs. The role:

As a team Ecologist your brief will include;

* Survey and mitigation works regarding protected species
* Liaising with clients and other colleagues across the country
* Undertaking and writing scoping, Phase 1 habitat reports and developing ecological management plans for planning
* Undertaking ecological Clerk of Works and Watching Brief roles on construction contracts.

Qualifications / Experience:

Successful Ecologists will have;

* An appropriate degree
* Eligibility for Associate IEEM Membership
* Ability to lead and coordinate protected species surveys
* Report writing capabilities including Phase 1 survey reports, protected species survey reports and assisting with ES chapters.
* Valid UK driving licence

Desirable experience and qualifications include;

* Evidence of working towards a NE survey licence for Bats and/or Great Crested Newts, and competence in relevant surveys and mitigation strategies.
* Experience of writing ESPM licence applications.
