This exciting role has arisen for an experienced geotechnical engineer to join its growing ground engineering team based in High Wycombe. Working on challenging projects your daily responsibilities will include:
- Preparing desk studies
- The planning, specification and supervision of ground investigations
- Logging to BS5930, BS EN ISO 14688 & 14689, BS ISO 25177
- Supervising drilling, trial pitting and sampling
- Scheduling geotechnical testing
- The analysis/design of earthworks, slopes, foundations, retaining structures and pipelines
- Interpretative and design report writing
- The inspection and provision of advice during construction
You will be educated to degree level in civil engineering, geology, engineering geology or earth sciences and have at least 2 years work experience within the geotechnical field. You should have excellent report writing skills and be an effective communicator as you will be dealing with designers, contractors and clients on a daily basis. An awareness of software such as HoleBase and/or gINT, including manipulation of AGS format data is required, as well as being up to date with the latest codes of practice and industry standards. You will need to be organised and self-motivated and willing to work away from home. Furthermore, you will need to demonstrate a track record in the preparation of high quality oral and written communications. A UK driving licence is essential.
