An exciting opportunity has arisen with our building services client for an experienced external daylight/sunlight specialist to join its expanding team in London, Farnborough or Manchester.
The role will involve carrying out daylight impact assessments using BRE methodologies for projects in the UK and overseas. This position will be client facing, therefore you should be experienced in providing high level technical advice on a broad range of sustainability issues and have excellent communication skills.
You will have experience of external daylight/sunlight impact assessments in accordance with BRE 209 gained within a sustainability consultancy or similar. Your experience during this time will also extend to Daylight/Sunlight and Overshadowing for EIA chapters, internal daylight assessment for planning applications, overshadowing assessments of outdoor amenity space, and daylight calculations for building certification (BREEAM, WELL, etc.). You will also need to demonstrate an excellent understanding of sustainability issues in the built environment and in-depth knowledge of building certification standards. You will hold an honours degree or higher and have considerable experience delivering projects in a consultancy environment. Competency with Autocad is essential as well as ideally MBS Waldram tools.
