JSM Associates are working with a leading international consultancy, who have an exciting opportunity for a Contaminated Land Consultant to join their established team based out of their central London office.
This is great role presents an excellent opportunity for someone experienced in contaminated land looking for a step up in their career. Being part of a well-established team, you will be involved in a wide range of high profile projects across a number of sectors including rail and urban regeneration
You will be part of an experienced team of 12 consultants and Project Managers across all grades contributing to desk studies, Phase 1 and 2 contaminated land assessments and remediation projects. Much of the work is development related and spans the planning, design and construction phases of projects so a detailed knowledge of project lifecycle and the ability to manage the design and construction stages of project will be required.
Ideally you will have experience of field work as well as producing good written work.

There will be opportunities to work on other projects delivering environmental, health and safety due diligence. Over the last three years, this has been a significant work stream for the team, they have worked on numerous projects with a combined asset value of many tens of billions, including oil, chemical and gas terminals/refineries and pipelines, heat and power generation, airports and ports around the world.
Responsibilities are as follows:
·Phase 1 and Phase 2 Geo-environmental assessments - including Due Diligence Reports and undertaking and supervising site investigations.
·Excellent knowledge of UK contaminated land legislation, statutory guidance and its application in site assessment and remediation.
·Interpretative report writing.
·Development of qualitative and quantitative Human Health and Controlled Waters Risk Assessments (GQRA and DQRA) and development of remediation strategies.
·Knowledge of Environmental Impact Assessments and the ability to input relevant chapters into Environmental Statements as required.
·Ability to work on multidisciplinary projects including close liaison with other environmental disciplines, structural and civil engineers.
·Relevant BSc degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Contaminated Land, Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science.
·Minimum of 3- 4 years post graduate experience
·Master's Degree in an environmental discipline would be an advantage.
·Must have a good understanding of contaminated land assessment including undertaking GQRA, as well as a strong understanding of field sampling and data review.
·An appreciation of the undertaking of DQRA and application of the various available models would also be advantageous.
