The Role:

The successful Development Manager will work as number two to the Director of the business, carrying out a cradle to grave development role on prestigious, cutting edge projects in the South West.

There are two flagship projects that you will have the opportunity to take a lead on delivering, in addition to a well-established portfolio of commercial, residential and development land. Someone with a passion and genuine intrigue for sustainable buildings, and a desire to create sustainable developments would be highly desirable, as would an interest of building physics.

Key Responsibilities:

* Management of development projects from inception through to completion, ranging in value from £3 million to £15m
* Leading consultant teams through planning, pre-letting, development, delivery, marketing and leasing
* Site identification for commercial and mixed use development with good market awareness
* Undertaking feasibility and viability appraisals and brokering land deals
* Leading consultant teams through planning, pre-letting, development, delivery, marketing and leasing
* Overseeing design, planning applications and Section 106 negotiations
* Overseeing financial analysis, creating development appraisals and profit forecasting
* Taking a high-level view of JCT contracts, construction and procurement processes
* Leading public consultation events and presenting

Personal specification:

* Proven track record of delivering development schemes from initial negotiation, feasibility and planning through delivery to leasing and sales
* Experience of residential, commercial and mixed use development, ideally with experience of working with historic buildings
* MRICS qualified would be preferred
* The ability to assess and understand legal documents including construction contracts, leases, planning and professional appointments
