Our client is a well established and highly respected consultancy with a long history of delivering innovative environmental planning solutions. Ecology is a core service, and due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Principal Ecologist to join their growing multi-disciplinary team in Manchester, to work on existing projects and develop new ecology work across the North of England.
You will work on a range of ecological projects across the UK, requiring a mix of field and office-based skills. Current clients include a broad spectrum of central and local government, government agencies and environmental bodies, voluntary and private sectors organizations.
In addition to delivering existing project work you will work with the Director of Ecology and other senior managers to secure new ecology work on a number of identified opportunities.
Involved in all stages of project development from tendering through to completion, you will be expected to participate in all aspects of the work carried out, particularly the generation of new business and client liaison. Working as a close knit ecology team, you will collaborate regularly with your colleagues in Bristol, Glasgow and London
The role requires competency in and familiarity with UK ecological issues, including relevant planning policy and legislation. You must also have proven experience in project management, including survey design and survey team management, project financial management and the delivery of Ecological Impact Assessments, research reports and EPS licenses. The nature of this work means a full driving licence is required.
