Are you an experienced ecologist seeking a new challenge and opportunities for significant personal development?

I'm supporting a well-established and successful consultancy with their search for Senior Ecologists to join their national team at their offices in Staffordshire, Yorskhire, London or Norfolk.

You will play a key role in assisting the existing team to manage their major projects which include some of the UK's most high profeile infrasturtucture projects. This means no single day will be the same! You'll undertake project work, client and data management as well as field work. This role is ideally suited to candidates who wish to fast track their careers - the opportunities for personal development are significant on the larger projects that make up their current portfolio.

Responsibilities of the post:

As a Senior Ecologist you will;

* Managing ecology project teams to deliver work efficiently and to budget
* Undertaking field surveys and co-ordinating delivery of ecological mitigation works
* Production of reports and protected species development licence applications
* Undertaking nature conservation/ecology assessments
* Providing guidance and professional development to more junior team members
* Developing working relationships with internal and external clients
* Managing ecological aspects of large projects & working with site teams

Qualifications / Experience:

The successful senior ecologist will have:

* A relevant degree and IEEM membership
* Experience of undertaking ecological duties within a consulting environment;
* Excellent technical expertise in relation to protected species;
* Experience of producing and implementing protected species development licence applications and be a holder of at least 1 EPS licence;
* Demonstrable experience in writing technical reports and proposals;
* Demonstrable project co-ordination and budget management skills;
* Full valid driving licence.

Having experienced their most successful year to date there's no better time to join this dedicated ecology consultancy team. Their informal approach and ability to regularly outcompete the multidisciplinary companies on the major projects should leave you in no doubt that they are now recognised as a serious player in the industry.
