Are you an experienced ecologist seeking a new challenge and opportunities for significant personal development?

I'm supporting a well-established and successful consultancy with their search for a Principal or Associate Director of ecology. The role will not only allow your technical experience to shine through, but you will also play a key role in helping the Leadership Team and Management Board to manage workloads and maintain and improve their focus on quality, whilst continuing to diversify their service offering.

Responsibilities of the post:

As a Principal Ecologist / Associate Director you will;

* Project manage a busy and varied workload whilst supervising staff;
* Carry out protected survey work and manage a number of individual complex projects at one time;
* Make contributions to the Continual Professional Development of team members and take the lead in internal and external training events and workshops;
* Work to developed excellent relationships with clients, representing the company at client and design team meetings.
* Confidently advise clients on wildlife issues during the development process, drawing on relevant UK and EU legislation.

Qualifications / Experience:

The ideal candidate will possess:

* An appropriate degree and Full IEEM Membership;
* A substantial track record of report writing and provision of critical review of own and others work including; Phase 1 survey reports, protected species survey reports and ES chapters;
* Previous experience of managing a team where project work has included protected species surveys and assessments;
* Full clean driving licence;
* Extensive experience at a senior level in ecological consultancy with a proven track record of project management
* Confidence and experience at dealing with clients and business partners at a high level.
