The Environment Team in the Estates, Facilities and Capital Development (EFCD) directorate is looking for an exceptional candidate with a proven track- record in waste management and recycling.
You will take lead responsibility for the development, management, monitoring and reporting of the University’s Waste, Resource and Recycling Strategy and associated budgets, in support of the University’s Environmental Sustainability Strategy.
Other key accountabilities include:
Lead responsibility for legislative compliance with respect to waste management and compliance with the requirements of the International environmental management system standard, ISO 14001.
Lead responsibility for procuring, managing, monitoring and reporting waste management contracts, driving financial efficiencies and ensuring legal compliance.
Lead responsibility for day-to-day waste collections/operations and enquires across the University.
Facilitating the development and delivery of the University’s £340m+ Estate Masterplan Investment Programme, concerning waste management, to improve student experience and ensuring it supports the objectives of the Waste, Resource and Recycling Strategy.
As a member of the Environment Management Team, the post holder will undertake a range of managerial duties to ensure excellent and efficient service delivery, work standards and performance.
