Engineering Manager

Engineering Manager. Location. Midlands. Salary. £80,000 – £120,000!

Green Recruitment Solutions are currently seeking an Engineering Manager for a leading player within the Clean-Tech Power Generation industry. Due to an internal promotion, this exciting opportunity has become available. The purpose of the role is to provide continued project management and technical direction for all engineering requirements within the Company.

Responsibilities of this role will include:
• Leading the Engineering of complex Thermal/ Process Power Generation projects
• Reporting of Programme Delivery and Mission Assurance for all aspects of Engineering activity
• Working as part of – and being at the helm of multidisciplinary teams, ensuring that all delivered projects are of high quality
• Manage, develop and coordinate the engineering capability and performance of the engineering team
• Flexible and versatile with experience of a broad range of skills from technical report writing, assessing proposals through to evaluating suppliers
• Being the senior authority within the business who ensures from a technical and engineering perspective that what is being designed and delivered - is going to work. This involves checking and challenging the technical / engineering integrity of the project throughout the project lifecycle
• Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with the other discipline heads and leads
• Monitor and develop junior staff, managing supervision and line management
• Liaising with clients and stakeholders
• Maintaining an up to date knowledge and understanding of developments within the Energy from Waste/ broader engineering industry

Essential Requirements:
• Degree educated with a proven track record in an engineering role
• Currently in an Engineering Manager, Engineering Director, Technical Director or similar role
• Broad engineering background with an understanding an appreciation of multiple disciplines including Mechanical, Electrical and Process
• An extensive background of developing complex engineering projects - projects that have been successfully delivered, and are currently operational
• Project experience would include large industrial process plants, O&G plants, refineries, Energy from Waste plants, Biomass plants, pharmaceutical plants, incinerators, Power Plants, CCGT, Coal fired plants or other thermal power generation plants
• Exposure to developing and implementing engineering strategies
• Sharp commercial acumen
• History of consistent delivery of projects on time and to budget within a demanding commercial environment
• A team player who is no stranger to ‘rolling up your sleeves and getting stuck in’ as required
