Summary

We are MP Smarter Travel, small and growing consultancy specialising in sustainable urban transport. Our areas of focus include air quality monitoring, cargo bikes and urban freight, bespoke research, policy/strategy development, Travel Planning, and engaging with non-experts about sustainable transport. Our key clients are local authorities and Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) in the London and the home counties.

We are looking to recruit a Graduate Sustainable Transport Consultant on a three-month contract with potential to extend. The role will be to support a variety of projects including: administration of a school air quality testing programme, a business cargo bike pilot programme, and engagement with schools and businesses on active and sustainable travel.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in the sustainable transport sector, and gain project management experience in a supportive environment.

About you

We are looking for a 'people person' who is comfortable making phone calls, introducing themselves and the project, and achieving the objectives of the phone call. A background in sales, customer service or administering phone surveys is desirable. A degree-level education (or equivalent) is desired.

You will have excellent spoken and written communications skills, organisational skills and attention to detail. You will also be able to demonstrate an interest in transport, air quality and/or the built environment.

Role and responsibilities

* Lead on a project to educate children about air quality and deliver air quality testing at schools in London. Work involves liaising with schools and managing a team of freelancers.
* Contribute to a variety of other projects including a business cargo bike pilot programme, school and workplace Travel Plans, and various 'Healthy Streets' projects.

Salary

The salary band for this role is £23,000 to £25,000 depending on experience.
