Are you a Flood Risk, Water Management or Drainage professional looking for your next challenge?
If so, then Norfolk County Council as Local Lead Flood Authority (LLFA) could have the perfect opportunity for you.

We’re looking for an experienced individual with excellent people and project management to support the Flood and Water Team Manager in delivering our responsibilities under the Flood and Water Management Act 2010.

You’ll lead a small team responsible for reviewing drainage strategies and flood risk assessments submitted as part of planning applications for major developments. Your team will also provide technical advice and guidance to Local Planning Authorities and stakeholders, undertake ordinary watercourse regulations under the Land Drainage Act 1991 and develop stakeholder and service improvements.

With at least 5 years’ relevant experience managing and delivering flood risk plans, projects, consultee or regulatory cases, you’ll be confident in assessing complex technical information against national and local polices. You’ll have experience of working on drainage and surface water management along with up to date knowledge of statutory, policy, SuDS theory and best practice.

In return we can offer a varied caseload, training and support to increase your technical competence and achieve your professional goals. We also offer an array of benefits such as flexible working arrangements, childcare vouchers, Norfolk Rewards – a scheme offering discounts on everyday purchases, great holiday entitlement and the opportunity to buy more; and a generous local government pension scheme.

Norfolk is a beautiful county with a fantastic coastline and an array of different landscapes with charming and picturesque towns, villages and coastal resorts. The man-made Norfolk Broads stretches over 125 miles and the city of Norwich provides excellent shopping, eateries and activities, all weaved around a historic backdrop.
